Dr Julia Pitsopoulos – Director

Julia has a reputation as a talented and versatile human factors specialist. Applying the highly sought after combination of human factors, psychology and risk, Julia is skilled at understanding and managing ‘people’ issues in order to improve safety and reduce operational risk. She has worked across diverse sectors, including rail, aviation, marine, oil/gas/process, defence, utilities, manufacturing and emergency services. Julia has a high level strategic and analytical capacity combined with a dedicated and enthusiastic approach. She has an extensive knowledge of human factors, safety and risk principles and a strong track record in project completion to the highest standard.

Dr Christian Pitsopoulos – Director

Christian is an organisational psychologist with exceptional skills as an organisational consultant, researcher, trainer, and coach. He specialises in the areas of behaviour change, research design and analysis, assessment and selection, leadership and workforce development. He has managed a number of large-scale research projects leading to publication in international peer reviewed scientific journals and practical outcomes for government and industry. Christian has worked across a wide range of industries in the private and public sector, including rail, aviation, marine, manufacturing, oil and gas, banking and finance, and retail. Christian has extensive knowledge of psychological principles in the workplace. He has a strong quality orientation and high level strategic and analytical capacity.

Dr. Julian Oldmeadow – Associate

Julian is an experienced and highly regarded lecturer and researcher in the Psychology Department at the University of York and previously at the University of Cambridge. He works as an associate consultant with HFRM. His particular expertise is in the area of research and analysis of social and work behaviours. His expertise includes research design, analysis and publication. He specialises in review and evaluation of scientific literature, research design and analysis, communication of scientific information, and application of scientific information to social and workplace issues. Julian is able to provide a strong understanding of attitudes and behaviours, which helps to provide scientific evidence to support projects such as safety culture diagnosis and behaviour change projects.
